Local rules Leeuwenbergh

  1. Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes and fence posts.
  2. The area within the red penalty area defined by red stakes with green tops (to the left of the fairway on hole 3, around the teeing areas on hole 4 (including the paths), between hole 4 and hole 5 and between hole 16 and 17) is a no play zone. When a ball is in the no play zone within the penalty area, the ball must not be played as it lies and relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under Rule 17.1e.
  3. Red stakes with green tops are immovable obstructions. Free relief is allowed under rule 16.1.
  4. The red penalty area on to the left of the fairway on hole 3 defined on only one side extends to infinity. 
  5. The path running through the no play zone of hole 4 is part of this no play zone.
  6. During the play of hole 4, the fairway of hole 5 along the water on the left side, is out of bounds, defined by white stakes. These stakes are treated as boundary objects during the play of hole 4. For all other holes, they are immovable obstructions.
  7. Hole 9, red penalty area
    The boundary of the red penalty area on the side of the green is marked by the outside of the timbering.
  8. At the player’s option, dung from geese or swan may be treated either as:
    • A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
    • Ground under repair from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
  9. Walls made of bundles of branches enclosed by wooden stakes on the course are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. Relief is not allowed to be taken under Rule 15.2.
  10. Ground under repair is defined by blue lines or blue stakes.
  11. The area defined by blue stakes with green tops, or blue lines combined with a green headed stake, is a no play zone that is to be treated as an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under rule 16.1f.
  12. The red penalty area on the left of hole 6 from the bunker, defined on only one side extends to infinity.
  13. Trees attached to stakes are abnormal course conditions. The player may take free relief under rule 16.1. (model regel E 10-2)

Provisional ball for ball in a penalty area

According to the Rules of Golf, it is not allowed to play a provisional ball if you are not sure if your ball is in a penalty area. For example, if something blocks the view. This kind of situations can take a lot of extra time and causes slow play.

If a player does not know whether their ball is in the penalty area on:

  • Hole 6 (water pond on the right)
  • Hole 8 (water halfway)
  • Hole 17 (water before de green)
  • Hole 18 (water before the green)

The player may play a provisional ball, using the point that the ball entered the penalty area as a reference point. The player can choose any of the following relief options: stroke-and-distance, back-on-the-line or the lateral relief option.

TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES

Preferred Lies
When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may prefer the lie once within one scorecard length of the spot of the original ball, not nearer to the hole and in the general area.

In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e.

Penalty for playing in breach of a Local Rule: General Penalty

Drainage trenches
Drainage trenches on holes 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 or 18 are ground under repair. The player may take relief under rule 16.1b. Relief is not allowed if the drainage trench only interferes with the player’s stance.

Penalty for playing in breach of a Local Rule: General Penalty

No Play Zone

It is prohibited to enter the no play zones on holes 3, 4, 5, 16 and 17, except for the path through the no play zone at hole 4.

Penalty for breach of this rule

  • First breach: Warning
  • Second breach: one penalty stroke
  • Third breach: two penalty strokes
  • Fourth breach: Disqualification


Rules of conduct

  • Appropriate golf outfit is required. Tracksuits, jogging suits, leggings, etc. are not allowed.
  • Bermuda shorts are allowed.
  • Men are not allowed to wear sleeveless shirts.
  • Entering the course with golf shoes or golf boots is preferred.
  • Metal spikes are not allowed on the entire complex.
  • Every golfer is asked to keep up the pace and avoid slow play.
  • Choose the tee color that best matches your game.
  • It is not allowed to walk in between the bunker and the green with a trolley.
  • Rake bunkers and repair pitch marks on the green.
  • Marshal’s instructions must always be followed.
  • Mobile phones are allowed on the course for scoring and checking golf rules. Calling on the course is only allowed in case of emergency. Avoid disturbing others when using your mobile phone. So do not call on the terrace, in the clubhouse, on the course and on the driving range. Set the ringtone to silent.
  • Smoking is not allowed on the entire complex.
